Prescription Monitoring Program Available to Prescribers
The State of Maine Office of Substance Abuse offers dentists and other prescribers free access to the Maine Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP). If you have concerns about a patient potentially abusing prescription drugs, you may request a report on that patient's prescription profile, developed from data collected from pharmacies' mandated reporting. The purpose of this program is to counteract the rapid rise of prescription drug abuse in Maine, and to better inform providers of a patient's profile, thereby giving the patient better care.
